Okay, fixed the problem. Looking in the Control Panel, I found out that my Dell laptop has two display adaptors, the NVIDIA and an Intel HD Graphics Family. I decided to check if the GeForce adapter was actually being used. This was a useful reference (). By going into the NVIDIA control panel found in the Control Panel, I was able to set the NVIDIA adapter as the global default for all programs. This is done in the 'Manage 3D Settings' of the NVIDIA control panel. Prior to making that change, it looks like the system was defaulting to the Intel adapter which apparently has OPENGL issues.
