I listened to John Peel during that period, from 77 to 81 or 82, after that I lost interest. I believe his show was on from 10pm till midnight. I taped the best of those broadcasts on BASF cassette, I had about 20 tapes of prime music. I played them dozens of times, what else was there to listen to in the 80s, and lent them to Americans so they could hear what Peel was about, I got lots of positive feedback. Those tapes lasted until the 90s when they started to squeal like crazy and I threw them out. By then I had started to acquire the Peel sessions CDs anyhow, I have a few and they sound great.
