I use Winamp as I have for years and I really like the auto tag feature which iirc uses Gracenote to ID files that have missing or incomplete tags. There was panic at the disc ripper when I discovered this problem. I tried MusicBrainz Picard but it was unpleasant. Same with EAC. Foobar2000 is working as a ripper (after installing the lame encoder) and tagger, pulling down tag info from freedb, which comes pre-configured. Set I never got into Foobar as a player or library manager, but setting its output destination to the folder specified in Winamp, then having Winamp rescan, is working as expected and desired. Can't wait for the promised second coming of Winamp.
