Right, well at a guess then you had managed to install a set of packages that did not include /bin/sh though I didn't even know that was possible. You could try running [code] chroot /mnt/sysimage /bin/bash [/code] and see if that works. You need to get the chroot to work so that what follows affects your newly installed system and not the system that is booted from the CD - chroot changes the root directory to whatever you specify and makes it appears as though you are now in / instead of /mnt/sysimage/.
